Come to Life it's Christmas
The festive spirit has Come to Life in Ballarat again this Christmas with
activities, decorations and fun to be had throughout the city.
The annual Come to Life it's Christmas street party held on Friday 27
November helped kick off the festive season. Residents converged on
Sturt Street to enjoy a variety of entertainment and the official 'switching
on' of the city's Christmas lights.
The 300 block is this year's Christmas centrepiece with the CBD's own
Christmas tree decorated in a mass of bud lights and baubles. Positioned
alongside the tree are spectacular life size topiary reindeer sculptures.
Sturt Street's light poles have been adorned with colourful Christmas
themed banners, flower filled planter boxes line footpaths in the CBD and
more than 100 retailers have got into the festive spirit by placing 'Come
to Life it's Christmas' stickers on their shop windows.
Shoppers will be entertained every weekend in the lead up to Christmas
by buskers, school children and other carols performances.
Merry Meter Elves will be handing out vouchers to shoppers for parking
meters every Friday and Saturday between 11am -- 2pm until 19
December. Be sure to observe parking restrictions as they will still be
enforced during this period.
