Queen -- the Unseen Archive
Queen -- the Unseen Archive has opened in style at the Art Gallery of Ballarat.
QUEEN -- the Unseen Archive features unseen images of the group taken by
close friend and roadie Peter Hince, providing a personal insight into one of the
world's greatest rock bands. Hince was head of Queen's road crew for two
decades, with full access to all areas of Queen's life both on stage and off.
As well as the incredible photo collection, the exhibition features rare items of
personal and tour memorabilia, including Freddie Mercury's pink ladies
turtleneck made famous in the 1984 'I want to break free' video clip, the
legendary Shure 565 SD microphone used at all but one Queen tour, as well
as hand-written lyrics and original posters, passes and tickets.
Personal friend of the band and music guru, Molly Meldrum was special guest
at the launch and said he was is thrilled to be associated with the exhibition.
The Art Gallery of Ballarat will be the only place in Australia to exhibit this
amazing collection with a percentage of all ticket sales going to support the
Victorian Aids Council.
Tickets to the exhibition are $15 Adult or $10 Concession.
As part of Queen the Art Gallery of Ballarat is also running an amazing
competition. Every paying visitor to the exhibition will be eligible to be in the
draw for a trip for two to London to see the musical 'We Will Rock You' with
$2500 spending money compliments of Westpac.

You will need to enter your ticket number and date of visit, and your name and
address. The winning entry will be drawn Friday 16 April 2010.
A range of merchandise, including souvenir t-shirts, carry bags and postcards
are also available from the Gallery.
Queen - the Unseen Archive will be on show at the Art Gallery of Ballarat until
Sunday 11 April. The Gallery is open daily from 9am to 5pm.

To coincide with Queen -- the Unseen Archive there will be a performance by
Killer Queen at Her Majesty's Theatre on Friday 12 March at 8pm and
Saturday 13 March at 5pm.
Killer Queen is a Queen tribute band and their energy-charged performance
features the musical legacy, energy and iconic performances of the English
Killer Queen will play all the greatest hits including "Crazy Little Thing Called
Love", "We Will Rock You", "We Are The Champions", "Bohemian Rhapsody"
but with some special surprises.
