Start your journey into history here. Step into the
recording studio -- and back in time -- to share
your own childhood memories; view displays of
pedal cars, dolls, rocking horses and tin toys; and
talk to local history groups and organisations.

Experience the magic of a traditional carousel,
sample treats from the past and take in a puppet
show. Marvel at the classic cars collection and
view vintage caravans.

Admire vintage costumes from the
Old Sheriff's Office
If you can remember your mum washing
clothes in the copper, you'll appreciate this Home
Beautiful display. Kitchen appliances, biscuit tins
and radios from the 1930s to 1960s are all
here to see.
Ballarat Trades Hall
Watch as the model trains churn their wheels
through handcrafted landscapes at the Model
University of Ballarat Post Office Gallery
Philip Berry's works bring to life the iconic
Australian corner stores which were once
important local landmarks and community hubs,
abuzz with conversation and ablaze with iconic
Ballaarat Mechanics' Institute
At the Mechanics' Institute, discover a very
different camera from the one you have now
as this display traces developments in popular
cameras from late 1800s to 1970s. Watch movie
trailers and adverts from yesteryear at the old
Britannia Theatre before strolling up Sturt Street
to Town Hall.
The popular free horse and carriage rides will
operate throughout the weekend.
Inside the Town Hall you can admire a visual
presentation of the civic events of the 1930s
onward and a Chinese Heritage display.
Outside, in Town Hall Lane, re-live your old
favourite nursery rhymes and schoolyard games.
Ballarat Heritage Weekend
Revisit your 'Childhood Memories' this Mother's Day weekend, Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 May from 10am to
5pm. Pedal cars, tin toys, rocking horses, carousels and puppet shows will feature at the 2012 Ballarat Heritage
