Opened in July 2011, the Annexe is an enclosed
multi-purpose space with glass walls which
can either open inwards into the Gallery or
outwards into Alfred Deakin Place. The design
is reminiscent of a public hall, a verandah and
a band stand and the space is designed to be
used for lectures, workshops, art installations,
community functions and opening nights.
Two of Ballarat's biggest events -- Ballarat
Begonia Festival and Ballarat Heritage Weekend
have attracted record numbers in 2012.
