Billed as a "veritable cornucopia of high class
performers, enticing and delighting their
audiences through song, story, wit and charm,"
it's hard not to get excited about the inaugural
Ballarat Cabaret Festival.
From 12 to 20 October, a collection of
renowned artists will showcase their "vibrant,
fresh, cheeky and bold entertainment" at
popular venues including Craig's Hotel, The
Mining Exchange, Lydiard Wine Bar, the P.O.
Box Theatre and Trades Hall.
The Ballarat Cabaret Festival is supported by

Trained by the man who discovered Midler,
Alcorn channels Bette Midler, transporting the
audience back to the Palace Theatre, New York,
1973 for a cabaret tribute to a timeless diva.

May, Craig Irons, Bart Harrowell and Lachie
Martin have been selected to perform individual
cabaret shows. Industry professionals have

The Caravan Burlesque
The globally acclaimed salon of seductive,
subversive and electrifying acts, The Caravan
Burlesque is the sensational feature event for
the 2012 Ballarat Cabaret Festival.
Created by award-winning international cabaret
and burlesque queens Moira Finucane and
Jacqui Smith (The Burlesque Hour, Carnival of
Mysteries) in association with VicHealth and
Regional Arts Victoria, The Caravan Burlesque
is a travelling emporium that fuses Parisian
nightclub with jaw-dropping cabaret and
seductive spectacle, tipping a velvet wink
to Australia's wild past of touring vaudeville
