Summer is around the corner and the perfect place
to cool off is Ballarat's outdoor pools.
The Eureka Pool opens for community use on
Saturday 3 November, with other locations
including the Buninyong, Black Hill and Wendouree
pools opening early December.
Enjoy a free community day at the Eureka Pool on
Saturday 17 November, 9am to 7pm, thanks to the
Ballarat YMCA. Entry and facilities are free for the
whole family, with an exciting range of inflatable
games for children.
On Saturday 1 December from 12pm, free
Community Days will be held at:

Dowling St, Wendouree
A Free Day at the Pool
The weather was dismal but an enthusiastic crow
of local tennis players and supporters didn't let it
dampen the opening of the new Buninyong Tennis
Centre in October.
The upgraded facility features eight floodlit acrylic
courts, landscape mounding around the playing
surfaces and the new pavilion including a kitchen
office, storage, public amenities and a social area
The $1 million project was funded by the City
of Ballarat ($867,600); the Buninyong & District
Tennis Association ($100,000) and Tennis Victoria

Australian Democracy at Eureka (M.A.D.E) was

Free Community Day
entral Highlands Water is celebrating 150
ears of water supply to Ballarat with a
ommunity Open Day.
he Community Day will be held on Sunday
8 November from noon to 3pm at Kirk's
eservoir Garden, Ballarat Daylesford Road,
hare the 150th anniversary cake and enjoy
enty of activities for children, garden tours,
live band and giveaways. A commemorative
plaque will be unveiled.
All activities are free and hundreds of local
primary school children's posters from
National Water Week will be on display.
Library members can now access the library
online via its new and improved website.
The new look website covers the Central
Highlands Libraries network and is considered
as the virtual (online) branch.
The new look website is easier to use and is
now more accessible via mobile devices. It also
allows each council to have its own webpage.
